  2. We need the ability to add multiple email addresses for a client. Not extra Contacts, but the main email address for a client. Currently you can only enter one email address, this is the address that tax payment letters (for example) are automatically sent to. However, some clients want these to go to more than one address. We have to keep a separate spread sheet and our Tax administrator needs to manually send tax payment letters to those clients.

  3. Overseas Borrower Student Loan repayments have different payment dates (30 September and 31 March), there is currently no functionality within Xero Tax (NZ) to manage these payments. I understand it is not possible for the system to calculate the repayment amounts as these are determined based on the loan balance, but if there could be an override amount like for Provisional Tax that would be useful, instead of having to track these borrowers manually.

It would be good if Xero Tax calculated the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns as we use this to inform our clients of what amounts they are up for in the new financial year, a very important piece of information for them to consider re timing and amount of cashflow outgoings. Xero Tax does it for individuals so not sure how difficult it would be to make it apply for all entities subject to the PAYG Instalment system.

  6. It would be efficient to have recurring time entries to be saved as a favorite in XPM instead of having to complete all three segments about Client, Job & Task. Especially for daily recurring Internal Time entries such as Non-Billable Time for Meetings, Personal Breaks or Filing Emails etc.

    Review points should not be able to be edited or deleted especially when done by partner. Manager should be able to respond but not edit or delete the original review point made by someone higher

  10. When sending remittances we need to be able to set brand theme to standard as a default. Not have to change it every time from unbranded to standard.

    I can't create a new remittance default that includes our logo.

We would like to be able to comment on the tax payment and save the comment, rather than making the comment and having to approve and then unapprove the letter to get it back to waiting for approval. This would also be good for tax notices that we ignore, as we can put a note as to why we are ignoring them.

  12. We need more flexibility in depreciation schedules to add Second Hand Capital Works Assets for rental properties.
    When you buy a second hand rental property, the capital allowances available under Div 43 needs to be calculated on the original cost, however, the total amount remaining to be claimed will be less than this original amount. Fixed Assets in Xero does not currently allow for this. We need to calculate the depreciation on a straight line basis based on the original cost, not what we paid for it and we need to be able to include an opening written down value,…

  13. Capital gains tax worksheet - where an capital assets is owned by more than one person say husband and wife 50:50. If the worksheet has been prepared for one taxpayer, have an option to have this copied/ transferred to the other taxpayer similar to rent schedule.

    For property generally there could be just one item but for shares there may be huge number of CGT events.

  14. Tax calculator - Handi has a button you can press for a tax calculator, just enter the income and it shows the Tax, Medicare & offsets (low income & former low & middle income). Awesome feature that allows you to show a client quickly why their refunds are low. Also allows a quick cross check.

  15. We work in small teams and it would be great if we could get a "Staff" drop down added for the client set up. So we could know the partner on the account, the lead accountant/manager and the staff member that works on the file so we know who to approach for various issues :)

  18. It would be great if clients can only see admin email (standard practice email) as a sender rather than staff emails as a sender. Example Invoice reply to standard organisation email rather than individual staff emails.

  19. Accounting for Opening and Closing Stock.
    In the Trust tax return and probably others, at Item 5 in the business section there is a plus icon you can press to open for 'livestock and produce trading'. In there you can record opening and closing stock, purchases and sales. Currently this is only feeding into the primary production section of the return. I would love to see an option to allow the same information for non primary production businesses.   20. Many reporting platforms now have the ability to copy reports directly to the clipboard - this would be great to skip the download-and-open-an-Excel-file intermediate step, when in many cases we are looking to drop the data directly into another spreadsheet or workbook.
